Renowned entertainment executive and philanthropist, Soso Soberekon, has once again warmed hearts across Rivers State with a remarkable gesture — paying the school fees of 23 students, each representing one of the state’s 23 Local Government Areas.
The initiative, which cuts across major tertiary institutions including Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Rivers State University (RSU), University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT), Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic, and Kenule Beeson Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic (Kenpoly), underscores Soberekon’s long-standing passion for youth empowerment and education.
According to reports, the total cost of the scholarships exceeds ₦2.2 million, covering students across various faculties such as Engineering, Law, Education, Management Sciences, Social Sciences, and Medical Sciences.

Sources close to the philanthropist revealed that this gesture is part of Soso Soberekon’s broader vision to give back to society, particularly to young people who face financial barriers in pursuing their education.
The move has sent waves of appreciation from students, parents, and community leaders throughout the state. Many have described Soberekon’s action as a rare blend of generosity and leadership, noting that few public figures extend such direct support to ordinary families.
“Education remains one of the strongest tools for transforming lives, and this is my way of investing in the next generation,” Soberekon reportedly said.
With this latest act of kindness, Soso Soberekon continues to solidify his reputation not just as a powerhouse in Nigeria’s, specifically, the Port Harcourt entertainment industry, but as a true humanitarian with a heart for the people.
