Hilda Baci Officially Receives Second GWR Plaque

Nigerian culinary star and celebrity chef, Hilda Baci has once again secured a place in the history books, officially being honored with a second Guinness World Record. This latest accolade recognizes her successful attempt at preparing the world’s largest single pot of jollof rice.

The confirmation from Guinness World Records states that during a Lagos-based event, Baci produced an immense 8,780 kilograms of the beloved dish. This monumental achievement arrives one year after she first gained international recognition for executing the longest cooking marathon by a single person in May 2023.

By securing these two distinct titles, Hilda Baci now stands as Nigeria’s premier record-breaking chef, and the first individual from the nation to be awarded two separate world records.

Officials confirmed that the colossal quantity of jollof rice was prepared in accordance with strict guidelines and was subsequently distributed to event participants and charitable organizations, ensuring no food was wasted.

Responding to this new milestone, the elated chef shared her excitement on social media, writing:

“Your plaques are finally here!!! Two records. Two plaques. One story of faith, fire, and history. Twice, God showed up for me. Twice, we made history for Nigeria. And not just any records — two of the biggest culinary records ever set.

“Together with Gino, we created something bigger than ourselves — a story that reached over 5 billion people and reminded the world what’s possible when passion meets purpose. I’m a two-time world record holder, someone pinch me.”
