Nigeria’s Descent into Lawlessness: Time for Change

American intelligence is too advanced to allow her President make such a blanket statement without verification. Trump saying a genocide was ongoing in Nigeria was true. At a point, killings was no longer news in Nigeria’s media, so it was underreported by local media. Insurgents operate in broad daylight.

I watched one northern governor on television referring to boko haram, saying we know them , we know their parents, we know where they live, but we cannot do anything. This is the kind of lawless country we have built post independence.

I read some National statesmen saying America should collaborate with Nigerian government to tackle the issue of insecurity, instead of issuing invasion threats.

My question is this: Nigerian government knows exactly who this people are, we see them on motor bikes in droves, yesterday I saw some terrorist organizing a press conference, with open faces, yet we claim they are faceless. Trump was right when he called us a “disgraced country”.

In the past, boko haram covered their faces now they organize press conferences without fear, they attack military bases and kick out our armed soldiers, if the military cannot confront them, what then is the fate of ordinary defenseless Nigerians? We have failed as a people, we have failed as a nation, we have failed as a civilization, indeed we are a disgraced country .

What do you think goes on in the minds of innocent Nigerians captured and being tortured in the forest? Girls as young as 14 years, captured and abandoned in the forest and life goes on as though nothing happened. Very unfortunate, Nigeria happened to them, Nigeria failed them,

Amidst all the killings , all what our statesmen can say is that america should collaborate with nigeria to defeat insurgency or open channels of diplomacy. We are just wicked both as a race and as a people.

So what exactly do you want America to do in the collaboration, and diplomacy? bring more money so our politicians continue to share?

Or bring in more arms which will end up in the hands of terrorist, or share intelligence which will be leaked to terrorist? What do we want America to do?

I just think as Africans we are a very wicked race one to another. People are being kidnapped, raped, killed and buried in shallow graves, all we have to say is america should come and collaborate with us or follow the path of diplomacy to fight terrorist .

We prefer America Collaborate with political elites who are accomplices to the killings? This is sad. The only type of collaboration we need now is outright intervention through inaction. Again, We need outright intervention not collaboration. For the past 20 years, collaborations, diplomacy and aid has produced more terrorist. Invade and wipe them out!
