Former Senior Special Assistant to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan on Domestic Matters and Social Events, Dr. Waripamo-owei Dudafa, has congratulated Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, on his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Dudafa, who previously represented Kolokuma/Opokuma Constituency 2 in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly and served as Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Community Development, described the move as “a wise and well-considered decision that strategically positions Bayelsa State for accelerated development and greater political inclusion.”
He commended Diri for demonstrating what he described as pragmatic leadership anchored on consultation, inclusiveness, and pursuit of the common good.
According to Dudafa, Diri’s alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and his own Assured Prosperity vision would foster transformation and progress across Bayelsa and the wider Niger Delta region.
“Your decision to work in harmony with the Renewed Hope Agenda will undoubtedly bring about the much-needed development for our people,” Dudafa stated.
He lauded the governor’s performance in office, noting that his administration has delivered purposeful governance and tangible results through wide consultations and public-focused decision-making.

“The same principle that has guided your governance, to act in the public interest and deliver measurable outcomes is reflected in your latest political alignment. It will continue to serve as a compass for your Assured Prosperity Administration,” he said.
Dudafa reaffirmed his loyalty and support for the governor, pledging to continue working with him to promote peace, unity, and progress in Bayelsa State.
“We remain committed to your leadership and will support you to finish strong. Your political maturity and developmental focus have repositioned Bayelsa for a brighter future,” he added.
He further praised Diri’s courage and foresight, describing his decision to align Bayelsa with the federal government under the Renewed Hope Agenda as a bold step toward inclusive governance and increased federal presence in the state.
