Eleme Youths Recover Stolen Items After Scavenging Ban

Following the recent ban on scavenging, cart-pushing, and scrap or metal collection by His Royal Highness, Emere Godwin Chinwi, the Oneh-eh Eta Ebubu, in Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State, youths of the community have recovered several stolen and vandalized items.

The enforcement operation, led by Comrade Richard Dabor, President of the Ebubu Youth Council, led to the discovery of items believed to have been stolen from the old Eleme Local Government Secretariat and private residences.

On Monday, November 3, 2025, TPCN learnt that among the recovered materials were aluminum roofing sheets, chairs, stanchions, zinc, brick molds, and head pans.

The items were retrieved during raids on various dump sites and storage points linked to illegal scavenging activities within the community.

All recovered items have been handed over to the Eleme Police Division for safekeeping.

Also, property owners have been advised to visit the station for proper identification and collection.

Further, the council youth president warned that anyone engaging in unlawful acts that threaten the peace and security of Ebubu would face the full weight of the law.
