The 2025 Bootcamp represented another significant milestone in DSN’s ambitious goal to train one million AI professionals over the next decade and establish Africa as a global center for inclusive and sustainable technological innovation.
This year’s edition received more than 32,000 applications from all 36 states of Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory, setting a record that highlights the increasing national demand for AI capacity building and the trust that DSN has cultivated as the leading AI learning and research non-profit on the continent.

Through a comprehensive multi-stage evaluation process that measured technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and collaborative spirit, only 150 of the most exceptional learners were selected as finalists and invited to the fully residential, all-expenses-covered Bootcamp held at the University of Lagos.
The curriculum of the Bootcamp was crafted to provide a complete learning experience that integrated technical expertise with social impact. Participants delved into advanced topics such as Generative and Agentic AI, Geospatial Intelligence, Digital Public Infrastructure, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Responsible AI.
The training adhered to a structured framework that advanced from basic sessions to complex project development, allowing participants to swiftly move from ideas to deployable prototypes with practical significance.
This methodology embodied DSN’s lasting philosophy of “learning, building, and sharing,” ensuring that each participant not only acquired top-tier knowledge but also comprehended how to utilize it in addressing Africa’s most urgent issues.
The Bootcamp was supported by a robust coalition of global partners and industry leaders, including Microsoft, Meta, MTN, Google DeepMind, Boaz Integrated Energy, Hyperspace, NVIDIA, NitHub, EqualyzAI, TechCabal, Askya Investment, the Fintech Association of Nigeria, and the University of Lagos. These organizations contributed their expertise, resources, and mentorship, enhancing the program’s effectiveness.
In total, 32 distinguished experts from around the world conducted technical and strategic sessions, representing organizations such as the Gates Foundation, Microsoft, Google, Meta, Mastercard Foundation, Access Holdings Plc, Interswitch Group, MTN, PwC, PIC, ARM, the Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth, WorldPop, and the University of Southampton.
