Super Falcons Gets ₦50m Boost from Abiodun

‎Mr. Dapo Abiodun has declared a ₦50 million support initiative for the Super Falcons in anticipation of their crucial second-leg qualifier for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations against the Amazons of the Benin Republic, taking place in Abeokuta, the capital of the state.

Abiodun made this announcement during a meeting with the female national team at his office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, on Monday.

‎”We were pleased to welcome the Super Falcons of Nigeria to our office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, before their second-leg WAFCON 2026 qualifier against the Amazons of the Benin Republic.

‎”In acknowledgment of their commendable performances and to further encourage them for the challenges ahead, we have announced a support package of ₦50 million for the team,” Abiodun expressed.

‎He noted that the Falcons’ return to the MKO Abiola International Stadium in Abeokuta serves as evidence that the state’s investment in sports development is yielding positive results.

‎”Their return to the MKO Abiola International Stadium is a confirmation that we are making progress in Ogun State,” the governor remarked.

‎The governor praised the Super Falcons for securing their 10th WAFCON title in Morocco, referring to the team as a representation of leadership, teamwork, and discipline.

‎”What they signify transcends football — they exemplify leadership, teamwork, and discipline.

‎”Through their achievements, countless young women are discovering that excellence is not limited by gender, and that with dedication and collaboration, they too can overcome obstacles and attain greatness,” Abiodun concluded.
