Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has been nominated for the 2025 International Federation of Football History and Statistics Women’s World Best Goalkeeper award, joining an elite group of ten nominees revealed by the global football organization.
Nnadozie, who currently represents Brighton & Hove Albion in the Women’s Super League, is the sole African among the nominees for this esteemed recognition.
She faces tough competition from some of the world’s finest, including Germany’s Ann-Katrin Berger (Gotham FC), Spain’s Cata Coll (Barcelona), England’s Hannah Hampton (Chelsea), and Chile’s Christiane Endler (Lyon), among others.
The results for the 2025 edition will be disclosed in December, with official rankings for goalkeepers, players, referees, and coaches to follow.
Nnadozie’s nomination comes at the conclusion of an outstanding year for the 24-year-old. Since she arrived at Brighton, she has emerged as one of the leading goalkeepers in the WSL, garnering multiple accolades and nominations for her performances.

She was nominated for the October Barclays WSL Save of the Month on Monday after her impressive save from Tottenham midfielder Eveliina Summanen’s free-kick during Brighton’s narrow loss.

She became the first Nigerian and African goalkeeper to be nominated for the Women’s Yachine Trophy, which is awarded to the world’s best female goalkeeper, finishing fourth in September.
Nnadozie has also been nominated for the CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year award, which she is favored to win for a record third consecutive time, further solidifying her status as one of Africa’s most accomplished footballers.
If she wins the IFFHS World Best Goalkeeper award, Nnadozie would be the first African woman to receive this honor, marking yet another milestone in her career.
