‎NPFL Reaffirms Sustainable Football Ecosystem to Attract Partners

The Chairman of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), Gbenga Elegbeleye, has reiterated the league’s dedication to establishing a sustainable football ecosystem that attracts sponsors and provides value to stakeholders.

‎The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the media interactive session aimed at promoting live radio commentaries for NPFL matches nationwide. Elegbeleye addressed a strategic media engagement in Lagos, organized by GTI Asset Management and Trust Ltd. in collaboration with the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN).

‎He stated that the NPFL is enhancing its collaboration with media and corporate entities to increase the league’s marketability and global competitiveness.

‎He mentioned that the ongoing reforms have redefined the league as a platform for investors seeking visibility, credibility, and social impact.

‎“We are creating a league that stands alongside the best in Africa. What we require now is partnership and faith,” he remarked.

‎Elegbeleye characterized the NPFL as a national brand with a presence in all regions, encouraging corporate organizations to view it as a valuable investment.

‎He emphasized that football remains Nigeria’s greatest unifying force and expressed hope that the collaboration among GTI, the NPFL, and the media would foster sustainable growth.

‎“No other activity unites Nigerians like football. It transcends religion, tribe, or gender barriers. Strengthening this ecosystem benefits every sector,” he added.

‎He called on corporate entities and individuals to invest in the fund, describing it as a sustainable model for promoting sports development and economic inclusion.

‎“This league covers 19 major cities and operates for nine months, facilitating over 380 brand engagement events annually,” he stated.

‎He further noted that no other platform provides such extensive reach and urged Nigerians to take ownership of the league and its development.

‎Ine expressed regret over the previous negative views regarding the NPFL, but noted that the current reforms have reinstated credibility, transparency, and commercial worth.

‎”We popularized the English Premier League in Nigeria, not the English themselves. If we can enhance their league, we can certainly develop our own,” he stated.
