CAF Reschedules Rivers United vs Black Bulls League Clash

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially confirmed a change in the date for Rivers United’s CAF Champions League second leg encounter against Black Bulls of Mozambique.

Originally scheduled for Sunday, October 26, 2025, the decisive fixture will now take place a day earlier — on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 4:00 pm — at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

CAF’s decision to move the match forward was formally communicated to both clubs, with the continental body attributing the adjustment to administrative alignments within the competition’s fixture calendar.

Rivers United, who trail 1–0 from the first leg in Maputo, now face a must-win situation if they hope to advance to the lucrative group stage of Africa’s most prestigious club competition. The Pride of Rivers must score at least two unanswered goals to progress, while the Mozambican champions only need a draw or a scoring defeat to qualify.

Head coach Evans Ogenyi is expected to ramp up his team’s preparation ahead of the crucial showdown, as the Nigerian side looks to capitalise on home advantage and keep their Champions League hopes alive.

With their supporters eagerly awaiting the Uyo clash, Rivers United will be banking on experience, tactical discipline, and attacking precision to overturn the deficit and seal qualification to the next round.
