Port Harcourt To Host 2025 Men’s Basketball League Finals

The Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) has announced that the Final 8 and Final 4 of the 2025 Nigeria Men’s Premier Basketball League will be held in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State.

This was disclosed in a statement made on Monday by Amina Amanchi, the secretary of the federation, who cited comments from NBBF Vice President, Babs Ogunade.

Ogunade noted that the hosting rights have been officially granted to Rivers Hoopers Basketball Club, and the club has assured to deliver a world-class experience for both participating teams and fans.

“The Rivers Hoopers have committed to providing a suitable venue, modern amenities, sufficient security, medical services, and live streaming of the matches,” Ogunade stated.

The NBBF indicated that the Final 8 is set to occur from October 26 to November 3, with teams anticipated to arrive in Port Harcourt on October 26.

Reports suggest that the Final 4, which will showcase the top four teams from the tournament, is slated for November 20 to 23, also in Port Harcourt.

“The club will also arrange transportation for teams, alongside financial assistance and accommodation support for participating squads,” Ogunade further mentioned.

The federation praised Rivers Hoopers Basketball Club for its preparedness to host the event, indicating that this effort significantly contributes to the advancement of basketball in Nigeria.

The Vice President stated that the NBBF will persist in collaborating with clubs, sponsors, and state governments to ensure that domestic competitions align with international benchmarks.
