The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has named and paraded 12 suspects linked to the death of ARISE News reporter, Somtochukwu Christella Maduagwu, and a security guard, Barnabas Danlami, during a robbery in Abuja.
A statement issued by the Command on Wednesday listed the suspects as Shamsudeen Hassan (Malumfashi, Katsina), Hassan Isah, 22 (Zaria, Kaduna), Abubakar Alkamu, 27 (Musawa, Katsina), Sani Sirajo, 20 (Malumfashi, Katsina), Mashkur Jamili, 28 (Igabi, Kaduna), Suleiman Badamasi, 21 (Malumfashi, Katsina), Abdulsalam Saleh (Katsina LGA, Katsina), Zaharadeen Muhammad, 23 (Chikun, Kaduna), Musa Adamu, 30 (Malumfashi, Katsina), Sumayya Mohammed, 27 (Sammaka, Kaduna), Isah Abdulrahman, 25 (Zaria, Kaduna), and Musa Umar, 31 (Maiduguri, Borno).
According to police sources, four of the suspects — Shamsudeen Hassan, Hassan Isah, Abubakar Alkamu, and Sani Sirajo — were first apprehended shortly after the incident and have reportedly confessed to their roles in the crime.

Investigations revealed that Shamsudeen fired the shot that killed the security guard, while Sirajo claimed he tried to grab Maduagwu as she fell from the third floor during the attack. Shamsudeen also confessed to escaping with the victims’ white Honda CR-V after the robbery.
The suspects allegedly shared ₦200,000 each from the stolen proceeds. The FCT Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to bringing all perpetrators to justice and urged residents to assist with credible information to aid further investigations.
