Microsoft has appointed Judson Althoff as co-CEO to collaborate with Satya Nadella, concentrating on the commercial aspects of the business, while Nadella redirects his attention towards technology and AI.
This appointment is part of a new strategy aimed at empowering commercial and public sector clients and partners to integrate their human resources with advanced AI capabilities to revolutionize their operations.
To realize this goal, Microsoft stated that it will need to merge sales, marketing, operations, and engineering to foster growth and enhance its status as a global partner in AI transformation.

Satya Nadella, chairman and CEO of Microsoft, communicated to company employees: “We are experiencing a monumental shift in AI platforms, which necessitates that we manage and expand our large-scale commercial business today while simultaneously pioneering new frontiers and executing flawlessly across both.”
He further stated: “In this context, I have requested Judson Althoff to assume an expanded role as CEO of our commercial business. Over the last nine years, Judson has led our global sales organization and has been instrumental in designing and developing Microsoft Customer and Partner Solutions (MCAPS) into its current form: the industry’s ‘number one seed’ and our company’s most vital growth engine.”
Althoff has been with Microsoft for over 12 years, most recently serving as its executive vice president and chief commercial officer. He possesses an extensive sales background, having previously held positions at companies such as Oracle and Dell EMC.
