Opobo/ Nkoro LGA Boss Warns Against Ethnic Politics

The Executive Chairman of Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area of Rivers State, Barr. James A James, has cautioned politicians in Nigeria, especially, those from Rivers State, to stop fomenting  tribal sentiments but be focused on the development of Rivers State and the country in general, for brighter and productive future for the people

In his good will message to commemorate Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary and developmental Attainment recently in Opobo Town, headquarters of the LGA, Barr. James used the opportunity to
admonished political actors both in the country and Rivers State to see peace, collective governance and love for one another as panacea for even development of the nation and the state, instead of beating
drums of indifference, which he said, does not promote peace, stability and democracy dividends to the people.

He argued that without peace, stability, understanding and love, development cannot thrive in such an atmosphere while appealing for togetherness and support to President Bola Tinubu, Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara and other stakeholders  to enable them build better development bridges for future generations.

‘I enjoined stakeholders, Political and Religious leaders to rise up and support the move by President Bola Tinubu, Governor Siminalayi Fubara and other sound minded developers, to help rebuild trust in the once fractured country and state for an enduring future’.

‘There should be collective responsibility for the President and Governor Siminalayi Fubara to bring about a long lasting transformation dividends to both the country and state, after the president brokered peace in the state which remains our forebears dreams’ the LG Boss stated.

 Meanwhile, Barr. James A James used the opportunity to congratulate President Bola Tinubu, his Vice, Kazeem Shettima, Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, his Deputy, Prof Ngozi Odu, among other leaders, including, Nigerians on the country’s 65th Independence Anniversary, describing the event as memorable.

He, however, urged Nigerians to help the leaders to build better developments for the people. On insecurity, Barr. James used the avenue to appeal to Nigerian youths’ to shun act capable of truncating democracy and join in the fight against insecurity and other social vices.
