Hilda Dokubo Campaigns For Nephew in Big Brother Naija

Nollywood veteran Hilda Dokubo has launched a public campaign urging voters to support her nephew, Kola Omotoso, a finalist in the ongoing Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) reality show. The actress has leveraged both social media calls-to-action and a physical rally in Port Harcourt to galvanize support for the housemate.

Dokubo took to her social media platform on Wednesday to celebrate Kola’s entry into the finals, directly appealing to his fanbase. “Our son made it to the BBN finals!” she stated. “A Big fat congratulations to every housemate who made it to the finals. For the avoidance of doubt @kolaomotoso_ we are super proud of you.”

Her post also served as a strategic directive for the final voting phase, adding, “Now that he’s not allowed to talk, let all who love him talk for him and you all know how”—an indirect plea for the fans to vote for him.

This online push comes after she organized a significant on-the-ground mobilization effort. Dokubo recently organized a coordinated rally across Port Harcourt. Supporters assembled at Peter Odili Road before dividing into four groups that covered key areas of the city, including Odilli-Amadi-Ozuboko, Station- Aggrey-Carniriv, Mile 1- Mile3 – RSU, and Choba- Ozuoba- Mgboba- Rumuokwuta.

Following the rally, Dokubo issued a formal statement of gratitude. “On behalf of my big sister, family, friends, and lovers of Kola, I am saying a big thank you for all your love and support. To all those who came out today for the rally Omiete, Oshe, nagode, Imela, thank you plenty,” she wrote.

In her statement, she emphasized Kola’s personal character as the primary reason for support, making a deliberate effort to transcend ethnic affiliations. “We have raised a disciplined and well behaved gentleman and we are proud of the representation that he has given of the family,” Dokubo stated. “Again I ask you to please vote for Kola not just because his mother is Kalabari and my sister or his father is Yoruba but because he has earned your love and respect.”

She concluded with a firm declaration of family unity, saying, “Kola is OUR son, and we LOVE him, nothing can change that.“
