Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has expressed gratitude to members of his cabinet for their service and contributions to the development of the state over the past two years.
Governor Fubara gave the commendation on Wednesday during a valedictory session with his cabinet at Government House, Port Harcourt, as part of activities to mark Nigeria’s 65th Independence anniversary.
In his address, the governor reflected on the significance of Nigeria’s independence, urging citizens to unite and work with President Bola Tinubu’s administration in building a peaceful, secure, and prosperous nation. He also assured Rivers people of his renewed commitment to delivering effective governance and sustaining development in the state.
“I want to thank all Rivers people for their support, and I encourage us to embrace the spirit of unity as we celebrate 65 years of nationhood,” the governor said, while extending goodwill to Nigerians on the independence anniversary.

Governor Fubara also announced the disengagement of commissioners and other political office holders affected by the recent Supreme Court judgment, with immediate effect. The move signals the beginning of a new phase for the administration as it reorganizes to strengthen governance in the state.
The session ended with the governor wishing all Nigerians a happy Independence Day celebration, charging them to continue working towards a brighter and more prosperous future.
