Youths Vandalize Ex-DPO’s Building in Finima, Pour Acid in Destructive Rampage

The destructive rampage by  Irate youths purportedly from the Buoye Omuso Brown House (BOBH) during a cultural ceremony in Finima Community in Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State, has led to the vandalization of properties including that of a former Divisional Police Officer, on Saturday, 27th September, 2025.

Other victims faced severe assaults and acid burns and they include :  Junior Young Tobin, son of a former Chief and Head of the Tobin Konibo-ye-Awanta Chieftaincy House. The wife of the Vice President of the Bonny Graduates Forum (BGF), Edna Christian Tobin and a lady identified as, Dabota Tobin were assaulted and inflicted with severe injuries.

It was reported that all of these happened in the presence of policemen drawn from the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) Finima Division led by their Divisional Police Officer, Mukhtar Mahdi, a chief superintendent of Police (CSP), alledgedly did nothing to handle the situation.

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has so far kept mute over the rampage in Finima, particularly, the conduct of its Divisonal Police Officer and personnel who witnessed the incident without taking any action.
