World News Day, NUJ Urges Journalists to Uphold Professional Standards

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has celebrated World News Day, recognizing the critical role journalists play in shaping global understanding and holding those in power accountable.

In a statement, the NUJ acknowledged the challenges faced by journalists in Nigeria, including threats, harassment, and intimidation, and pledged to continue fighting for their rights and welfare.

The union also called on journalists to uphold high standards of ethical conduct and objectivity in their practice, emphasizing the importance of a free press in promoting accountability and transparency.
