RIWAMA Chairman Joins World Environmental Health Day Celebration in Port Harcourt

‎The Chairman of the Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA), Dr. Nwanosike Samuel, on Saturday joined stakeholders, professionals, and environmental advocates in Port Harcourt to mark this year’s World Environmental Health Day.

‎The event, organised by the Environmental Health Officers Association of Nigeria (EHOAN), brought together key players in environmental sustainability and public health to discuss strategies for creating cleaner, safer, and healthier communities.

‎In his remarks, Dr. Nwanosike emphasized the critical role of environmental health in safeguarding public well-being, stressing that effective waste management, sanitation, and sustainable practices remain central to achieving healthier cities. His participation, observers noted, reflects his unwavering commitment to driving awareness on environmental issues and promoting eco-friendly initiatives across Rivers State.

‎Speaking at the event, the leadership of EHOAN commended Dr. Nwanosike and other participants for supporting the association’s vision of building a more sustainable and resilient society.

‎World Environmental Health Day is observed annually to draw attention to pressing environmental health issues and mobilize action at global, national, and community levels. This year’s commemoration in Port Harcourt once again reinforced the importance of collaboration among government agencies, professionals, and citizens in ensuring a cleaner environment.
