Overwhelmed by the impacts corps members deployed to the state have made in their host communities, the Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, expressed deep appreciation to corps members for their dedication and contributions to the growth and development of the state.
Fubara stated this through the Permanent Secretary, Cabinet Bureau, Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Azibaolanari Uzoma-Nwogu, at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Nonwa-Gbam Tai, on Friday, September 26, during the swearing-in ceremony of the 2025 Batch B Stream II Corps Members.
The governor assured them of his administration’s unwavering support for the NYSC Scheme. He noted that the people of Rivers State will remain grateful for the selfless service of corps members, and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring the success of the Scheme in the state.
Fubara also encouraged the new corps members to take full advantage of the Scheme’s Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme, stressing the importance of self-reliance and their potential role in advancing national economic development.

Earlier, the NYSC Rivers State Coordinator, Mr. Moses Oleghe, commended the newly inducted corps members, describing them as focused, mentally, emotionally, and psychologically prepared to make meaningful contributions to national development.
Oleghe urged them to view the service year as a unique opportunity for self-discovery and a platform to channel their energy into creating positive change in society. He also appealed to the state government to fulfill its promise of carrying out a comprehensive renovation of the camp facilities to enhance the welfare and training experience of corps members.
The oath of allegiance was administered by Justice Mark Chuku, who represented the Chief Judge of Rivers State. A total of 2,100 corps members, comprising 910 males and 1,190 females were officially sworn in at the ceremony.
