Okrika’s Future Looks Brighter with Modern Abattoir

In a groundbreaking move, Hon. Linda Somiari Stewart, Deputy Leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly, has embarked on an ambitious project to construct a modern abattoir and livestock market in George Ama, Okrika.

This visionary initiative is poised to revolutionize the community’s economy and improve the lives of its residents. Hon. Linda visited the site for the construction yesterday, 23rd September, at George Ama.

The project promises to create jobs and income opportunities for community members to stimulate economic growth, and provide a reliable source of meat and animal products, as there are only a few in the LGA. It will promote standardized meat production and processing practices, ensuring the hygienic handling of animals and providing a market for local farmers’ livestock.

The community’s enthusiasm and participation in the project are a testament to the power of collaborative governance.

By engaging with community leaders, elders, and youth bodies, Hon. Stewart has demonstrated a commitment to inclusive development and a willingness to listen to the needs of her constituents.

As the project takes shape, it is clear that this initiative will have a lasting impact on the Okrika community. It is a shining example of what can be achieved when government officials and community stakeholders work together towards a common goal.

I believe this project will be a game-changer for the community, as the proposed construction of a modern abattoir and livestock market in Okrika has the potential to transform the community’s economy and improve the lives of its residents, showcasing the positive impact of collaborative governance and development initiatives. I look forward to seeing its positive impact unfold.
