Nollywood actress Uche Ogbodo has opened up about her decision to undergo body enhancement surgery, revealing that it was a personal choice rooted in her struggle with body image after childbirth. In an interview, the mother of three explained that while she had always been naturally busty, her figure changed significantly after having children, leaving her feeling unhappy and insecure.
“I didn’t have an hourglass shape. Starting to have babies didn’t help matters for me. I didn’t like what I saw when I looked at myself after my third child. I felt I owed it to myself to be happy and confident,” she said.
Ogbodo emphasized that the surgery was not for public approval or social media validation, but for her own mental health and emotional well-being. She described herself as her own competition and said the transformation helped her feel “good, okay, and enough.”

The actress also criticized the culture of secrecy among celebrities who undergo cosmetic procedures but deny it publicly. She believes that public figures have a responsibility to be honest with their fans, especially those who admire them and may be struggling with similar issues.
“Why hide it when you can inspire other women with your story?” she asked.
Ogbodo added that her husband fully supported her decision, understanding the emotional toll that body changes had taken on her. She hopes her openness will encourage other women to prioritize their happiness and embrace their truth.
Her story adds to the growing conversation around body autonomy, motherhood, and mental health in Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
