NECO Rewards Staff and Students at 2024 Productivity Awards

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has recognised its staff and students for outstanding performance and dedication during the 2024 Productivity Award Ceremony, held at its headquarters in Minna on Thursday, September 18, 2025.

NECO Registrar and Chief Executive Officer, Professor Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, presented Certificates of Service to retired staff in honour of their loyalty and years of meritorious service. Awards were also given in categories such as Most Hardworking and Dedicated Staff of the Year, Best State Coordinator, Best Driver, and Best Performing Students across NECO examinations.

Highlighting the council’s achievements over the past three years, Prof. Wushishi commended staff and stakeholders for their contributions. He cited reforms including the timely conduct and release of exam results, transparent promotion processes, the development of ICT tools for fairness, and the procurement of OMR scanning machines, e-Granary databases, and computer systems for offices nationwide.

In his goodwill message, Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, Abdulmalik Sarkin-Daji, praised Wushishi’s leadership, describing him as a man of integrity who has effectively driven reforms. He also donated ₦1 million to the best students recognised at the event.

The Chairman of the Award Committee applauded NECO management for motivating staff and students through the initiative, noting that the recognition would further inspire excellence in service and academics.
