Nigerian rapper Vector Tha Viper has revealed that his song Early Momo, featuring Goodgirl LA, had a life-changing impact on a listener battling depression in a psychiatric facility. The artist shared this emotional testimony during a recent episode of The Honest Bunch Podcast, where he spoke passionately about the deeper purpose of music beyond commercial success.

Vector, known for his lyrical depth and socially conscious themes, emphasised that true musical achievement lies in its ability to resonate with people during their most vulnerable moments.

“I released Early Momo, and I got a message from a psychiatric home that said it helped somebody who was depressed… That’s a successful moment in somebody else’s life that I didn’t even intend to,” he said.

He also cited his collaboration with Seyi Vibez on the track Mercy, noting that its streaming spikes often coincide with periods when listeners are emotionally overwhelmed or overthinking. For Vector, this pattern reflects how music can serve as a mirror to society’s emotional state.

“Music should be spread across in such a way that whatever people are going through, they find the music to fit that purpose,” he added.

The rapper’s reflections have sparked conversations online about the role of conscious music in mental health and emotional healing. Fans and mental health advocates have praised Vector for using his platform to highlight the therapeutic power of sound.

Early Momo, released in 2021, is a soulful love ballad that blends vulnerability with poetic lyricism, qualities that may explain its emotional resonance with listeners facing personal struggles.

As conversations around mental health continue to grow in Nigeria, Vector’s story serves as a powerful reminder that music can be more than entertainment; it can be a lifeline.
