DJI Launches Mini 5 Pro Compact Drone

DJI, the global leader in civilian drones and creative camera technology, has officially launched the highly anticipated DJI Mini 5 Pro, setting a new benchmark for compact drones. The release, which follows months of speculation and leaks, represents a major upgrade in the Mini series, combining professional-grade features with a body weighing under 250 grams. This lightweight design allows easier operation in many regions, as it often avoids registration requirements.

The Mini 5 Pro introduces significant advancements rarely seen in drones of its size. Leading the list is a 1-inch CMOS sensor, a first for the Mini lineup. Capable of producing 50-megapixel photos, the sensor enhances image clarity, boosts dynamic range, and improves performance in low-light conditions, making it ideal for cinematic visuals.

Another standout innovation is the addition of LiDAR obstacle sensing. Alongside its vision sensors, the forward-facing LiDAR enhances navigation and safety, especially in low-light scenarios. This system enables new features such as nightscape omnidirectional sensing and a more intelligent “return to home” function, increasing reliability during flights.

For content creators, the drone also brings enhanced camera capabilities. It records 4K video at up to 120 frames per second, offering flexibility for high-quality slow-motion shots. The redesigned gimbal supports a 225-degree roll rotation, enabling true vertical shooting for social media content as well as more dynamic camera maneuvers.

Weighing less than 250 grams, the Mini 5 Pro is designed to appeal to both professional filmmakers seeking a portable tool and beginners looking for an easy-to-use, feature-packed device. DJI’s latest release highlights its commitment to making advanced aerial imaging more accessible while maintaining safety and performance standards.

With the launch of the Mini 5 Pro, DJI has not only redefined expectations for lightweight drones but also reinforced its role as a pioneer in consumer drone technology.
