NAF Offers Free Holiday Music Classes for Personnel’s Children

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has launched a free music training programme for the children and dependents of its personnel, aimed at boosting welfare and building skills among Air Force families.

In a post shared on its official X account on Sunday, September 14, NAF said the initiative aligns with the “welfare-driven leadership” policy of the Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar.

According to the statement, the Directorate of Music organised the programme between August 4 and 30, 2025, delivering intensive four-week lessons across its music squadrons. The training targeted children aged six to 17, introducing them to the handling and performance of various musical instruments.

The Force explained that the scheme reflects Air Marshal Abubakar’s focus on personnel well-being and his broader strategy to strengthen the resilience of military families.

“Participants were given practical exposure to different instruments, which not only fostered creativity but also supported long-term cognitive and social development,” the statement noted, citing research on the benefits of musical education, including improved memory, coordination, and emotional regulation.

The NAF added that the holiday music classes are part of ongoing efforts to promote human capacity development and enhance the quality of life for officers, airmen, and their loved ones.
