Infinix, PUBG Mobile Launch First Africa Esports Cup

Africa’s esports scene is set to reach new heights as Infinix, in partnership with PUBG Mobile, officially launches the inaugural 2025 PUBG Mobile Africa Cup. The finals will be staged in Nairobi, Kenya, on September 13–14, marking the continent’s first major PUBG Mobile tournament and opening a pathway for African players to compete internationally.

The event follows months of qualifiers across Eastern, Western, Southern, and Central Africa, which brought together 48 top teams in the group stage. From this pool, 14 teams advanced, joined by two invited squads, to battle it out in Nairobi for both prestige and global recognition.

Powering the competition is the Infinix GT 30 Pro, the official tournament smartphone. Featuring a high-refresh-rate AMOLED display and an advanced cooling system, the device underscores Infinix’s commitment to supporting high-performance mobile gaming. The brand’s collaboration with PUBG Mobile builds on earlier joint events across Asia and Europe, now extending that momentum to Africa.

The tournament carries a prize pool of \$8,000 USD, but the bigger reward is international exposure. The champion team will qualify for the 2025 PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC), giving African players a rare opportunity to test their skills against the world’s best squads.

In addition to esports, the finals will double as a Gaming Fan Festival. Fans can expect cheer squad showcases, cosplay contests, and live music from Kenyan performers, blending gaming with local culture. Organizers aim to make the event both a sporting milestone and a celebration of youth creativity.

The 2025 PUBG Mobile Africa Cup not only cements Infinix’s position in the global gaming ecosystem but also represents a defining moment for African esports, spotlighting the region’s growing community on the world stage.
