Ignatius Ajuru University of Education: Battle Against Cultism

The Vice Chancellor of the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education has revealed that the institution is taking decisive steps to curb cult activities on campus. According to the Professor, some cultists have been arrested, and investigations are underway to identify other members. In a bold move, the Vice Chancellor personally participated in the arrest of cultists, discovering two small pistols, a cutlass, and a knife in a suspected vehicle, which were subsequently handed over to the police.

The Vice Chancellor’s actions demonstrate the university’s commitment to creating a safe and secure environment for students to focus on their studies. By advising students to shun cultism and concentrate on their academic pursuits, the university aims to promote a culture of peace and discipline on campus.

The Ignatius Ajuru University of Education has faced challenges with cultism in the past, with incidents of violence and unrest reported on campus and other universities in the State.

To prevent cultism and promote a safe campus environment, the university may consider implementing measures such as deploying more security personnel and installing CCTV cameras to monitor campus activities, encouraging students to participate in extracurricular activities and providing support services to help them manage stress and peer pressure, working closely with law enforcement agencies to identify and prosecute cultists, providing counseling and support services to students affected by cultism or violence.

By taking a proactive and multi-faceted approach, the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education can create a safer and more supportive environment for its students to thrive.
