In a prestigious ceremony held recently, the Niger Delta New Media Practitioners (NDNMP) conferred the esteemed “Beacon of Entertainment” award upon Ruzzel Ngofa, a prominent Rivers State businessman and philanthropist, in recognition of his transformative and unwavering support for the region’s creative economy.

Mr. Ngofa, the Chief Executive Officer of Ruzzel Entertainment Project, was honoured for his visionary patronage and consistent investment in the Port Harcourt entertainment landscape. This was made known on Thursday, September 11, by Owudogu Dave (the founding president of the Niger Delta New Media Practitioners) on his Facebook page.

The award specifically acknowledges his role as a pivotal figure who illuminates the path for emerging talents and industry stakeholders, providing them with the platform and support necessary to thrive on a larger scale.

The Founding President of the NDNMP, Owudogu Dave Owudogu (popularly known in media circles as Dave of Africa), presented the award. In his address, he elaborated on the rationale behind the honour, stating, “Ruzzel Ngofa has consistently proven himself to be a strong supporter and a true pillar of the entertainment and creative space in Port Harcourt and beyond.

His interventions have catalysed growth and provided opportunities where they were most needed. This honour is not only well-deserved but also a testament to the significant impact one dedicated individual can have on an entire industry.”

In his gracious acceptance speech, Mr. Ngofa expressed profound gratitude to the Niger Delta New Media Practitioners for the recognition. He highlighted that the award would serve as further motivation to deepen his commitment to the sector.

In a move that underscored his ethos of service and community, the businessman, who also serves as the President of the Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Express, dedicated the accolade to two key groups: the tireless entertainers and creators who are the lifeblood of the industry, and the Rotary Club of Nigeria, whose principles of “Service Above Self” have guided his philanthropic endeavors.

This event was part of a broader, ongoing initiative by the NDNMP to identify and celebrate exceptional individuals from the Niger Delta region who are making significant and measurable impacts in fields such as business, leadership, and innovation on both a national and global scale. By spotlighting figures like Ruzzel Ngofa, the group aims to reshape the narrative around the Niger Delta, highlighting its stories of progress, creativity, and positive change driven by its own people.
