”The NPFL Youth League is currently operational. It would undermine the league’s reputation for clubs in the top division to participate alongside lower division and amateur teams.
”A statement from the NPFL yesterday noted that the NPFL board is the sole authorized entity by the NFF to organize a youth league for clubs in the elite division.

”As the competent authority under a license from the Nigeria Football Association (NFA), commonly referred to as the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), the NPFL is obligated to reserve a portion of its share capital as nominee shares, subject to participation and ownership rules for clubs that meet the eligibility criteria for the Nigeria Premier Football League from time to time;
”To manage the league in compliance with local laws, association statutes, and international rules and regulations, the NPFL has established the Nigerian Professional Football Premier League Rules (“Rules”) to ensure the effective operation of the “League”.
”To ensure adherence to the terms of its memorandum and articles of association, as well as its grant of nominee shares to participating clubs, the NPFL mandates that each participating club enter into a Deed of Adherence.
