Political Stalwart Speaks on Development After Rivers LG Elections

Stakeholders in Rivers State have  expressed their concerns and expectations from the newly elected and sworn in Council Chairmen in the 23 Local Government Areas of the State towards ensuring the smooth delivering of good governance at the grassroots..

The Chairman of the Project Adversory Committee lndorama Host Communities and former Supervisor For Works And Transport 2024, Chief Nwosu Ngofa (JP), said that the people of Eleme Local Government Area are lacking behind in terms of development.

Chief  Ngofa (JP) who is also a former Special Adviser (SA) to the Chairmen, three times, all in Eleme Local Government Council of the State called on the newly elected Council Chairmen in the State to now focus on governance as the period for campaigns are over, particularly the Executive Chairman of the  Eleme Local Government Area, Hon. Obarilomate Ollor,

He stated “ I think they have to address the immediate problems and needs around the People, because this is the period of governance and not campaign. And l think what is affecting the People very much , which are the empowerment of the youths, Creating Scholarships for the Students, Giving us light, (Electricity Power Supply), they are not Power Holding Companies but at least offset the bills to be supportive to their People by paying the bills with the Power Holding Companies”.

Chief  Ngofa JP spoke extensively on Four points agenda which the new chairman of Eleme LGA should give priority attention to within his first One  year in office of his government which he said will help to accelerate speedy development in the area.

“My word to him is that, he should be prayerful number, he should be focus and he should come out with Four points agenda in his first One year which are, One he should complete the new Council Secretariat, two, he should separate Eleme substation from Okrika to have a stable electricity power supply in Eleme LGA, three) he should go into the revival of the Agricultural Farm at Ebubu Community and Four he should encourage the Students by paying regular bursary to the Students in the Tertiary Institutions.Chief  Ngofa (JP) noted.

He added that the development process should also be applied by all the new chairmen at their domains  to have prosperous and progressive LGAs in Rivers State..
