‎Enyeama Gives His Verdict On Eagles’ WC Qualification

Vincent Enyeama, a former Nigerian goalkeeper, made a strong statement on Thursday, September 4, expressing his belief that the Super Eagles will manage to overcome their challenges in qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

‎Right now, Nigeria is in fourth place in Group C of the African qualifiers. They have earned seven points from six matches. They are behind South Africa, who have 13 points, and also behind Rwanda and the Benin Republic, who have eight points each.

‎Even though things are tough, Enyeama is sure that the Super Eagles will do well.

‎”I really believe Nigeria will qualify,” he told our reporter.

‎”Nigeria has a track record of rising above tough situations. They will beat South Africa, they will beat Rwanda, and they will qualify. I am confident about that.”

‎Enyeama, who helped Nigeria win the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations and played for the country in three World Cups, stopped playing for the national team in 2015.
‎At that time, he had earned 101 caps.

‎The qualification process has become more complicated because South Africa might get points taken away. This is because they used an ineligible player during a match against Lesotho in March.

‎Even though this problem hasn’t been settled yet, Nigeria is preparing for an important game in Bloemfontein against the top team in the group.

‎They will then host Rwanda in Uyo in September. Their final matches will be against Lesotho and the Benin Republic in October.

‎Enyeama stressed that the team’s experience and fighting spirit will be key to their success.

‎”Nigeria keeps showing that when they face difficulties, they find a way to come out stronger. I believe this will happen again,” he said.

‎He also mentioned that the Nigeria Football Federation and government should help former players who have moved into business. This way, they can keep making a positive impact on society.
