Expert Urges Obio-Akpor Council Chairman to Focus on Youth Empowerment

The chairman of Obio-Akpor Local Government council, Dr. Gift Worlu, has been advised to prioritize youth empowerment, as a means of engaging idle youths in the area.

A Public Affairs analyst, Mr. Jackson Lekan-Ojo, who gave the advice while speaking with our correspondent, said beyond giving the youths a source of livelihood, the empowerment will also check youth restiveness and crises between the indigenes and non-indigenes in the local government area.

“I want a situation where Gift Worlu will create avenue for the youth that are roaming the street instead of them to be touting, they are so many ways to create jobs for them in the area of agriculture, and he can even buy Keke and give to them for them to be remitting to the council, cause if he do youth empowerment they won’t be any communal and tribal crisis” Lekan Ojo added.

Mr. Lekan-Ojo, who described Dr. Worlu as a selfless and detribalised Nigerian, expressed optimism that the Obio-Akpor local government council chairman would promote peaceful coexistence between the indigenes and non-indigenes residing in the area, for the overall development of the local government area.

Mr. Lekan-Ojo appealed to indigenes and non-indigenes of Obio-Okpor, to give the council chairman maximum support for him to succeed.
