President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Vice President Kashim Shettima on his 59th birthday, describing him as a steadfast partner in the pursuit of a more prosperous Nigeria.
In a goodwill message issued on Monday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President said the occasion offered a “unique opportunity” to celebrate Shettima, whom he referred to as “a brother, partner, and dependable deputy.”
Tinubu praised the Vice President’s courage, tenacity, and commitment to the nation’s progress, noting that his record in public service reflects leadership rooted in sacrifice rather than privilege.
“You served the people of Borno State excellently for eight years as Governor and later as Senator for Borno Central. In both roles, you demonstrated that leadership is about service, even in the face of immense challenges,” the President stated.
He highlighted Shettima’s loyalty and dynamism in office, stressing that his contributions had strengthened the administration’s drive to deliver on its Renewed Hope Agenda.

“In choosing you as a partner, I selected competence and qualities Nigeria could rely on. Every day as Vice President, you have justified that choice by reinforcing our work and bringing fresh perspectives,” Tinubu added.
The President also pointed to progress in food security, investment reforms, and international partnerships, crediting Shettima’s input as instrumental. He expressed optimism that their continued collaboration would yield more tangible results in education, healthcare, job creation, and trade.
“Our relationship transcends official duties. It is a bridge across regions and traditions, united in service to the nation,” Tinubu said, adding that Shettima exemplifies what is possible when Nigeria’s interests come first.
He prayed for renewed strength, wisdom, and more years of impactful service for the Vice President while extending his warm birthday wishes.
