APC Credits Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda for Rivers Poll Victory

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced a significant victory in the recent Rivers State local government elections, expressing gratitude to the people of the state for their overwhelming support.

The Port City News earlier reported that APC won 20 of the 23 local government areas in Saturday’s Chairmanship and Councillorship elections.

The ruling party in the state, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on the other hand, won only three LGAs in the poll conducted by the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission.

APC in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, announced that it won 20 out of the 23 chairmanship seats, which it described as a clear sign of public confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

The APC praised its leaders, members, and supporters for their hard work and also commended the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) and security agencies for conducting a peaceful and transparent election.

The party urged the newly elected officials to focus on delivering “meaningful governance outcomes” for the people.

The statement also categorically rejected allegations of foul play made by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar regarding the election.

The APC dismissed Atiku’s comments as “highly irresponsible” and a “smokescreen” to cover up what it called the “miserable no-show record” of his own party, the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The party also accused Atiku of attempting to incite tension and strife, urging the people of Rivers State to reject his “unwise counsel.”

The party’s statement reiterated its commitment to building a “stronger, more united Rivers State.”
