National Youth Games Set to Begin with Over 6,300 Participants

The 9th National Youth Games is gearing up for an exciting event, with a massive 6,382 athletes and officials ready to participate. The Digital Registration Management process has wrapped up, and the stage is set for the games in Asaba from August 29 to September 6, 2025.

The confirmed entries include 4,961 athletes, 635 coaches, 386 team officials, and 400 state delegates, all representing the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. These numbers highlight the growth of the games, which are a great way to support young sports talent and bring Nigeria together.

While most are ready, Gombe State is still in the process of registering its 74 participants. The total confirmed number of athletes and officials is 6,382.

Get ready for 37 different sports events, where skills, competition, and teamwork will be on full display. Team Delta, the current champions, will be looking to keep their title, but they’ll have to fight hard against other teams.

The National Sports Commission says that the 9th National Youth Games is a celebration of talent, determination, and national unity, as we watch the future stars compete for glory over nine days of exciting action.
