The National Secretariat of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has put to rest recent speculation regarding the leadership of its Rivers State chapter. In a clear statement, the national body has confirmed Mr. Cyril Dum-Wite as the legitimate Chairman.
A letter dated August 25, 2025, addressed to the Permanent Secretary of the Rivers State Ministry of Sports Development, explicitly states that Mr. Dum Wite, elected on April 4, 2024, will serve his full three-year term, concluding in April 2027.

The letter, also copied to Mr. Dum Wite and SWAN National Ex-Officio, Mr. China Acheru, underscores the national body’s unwavering support.
This reaffirmation effectively ends any uncertainty, ensuring stability and continuity in the leadership of Rivers SWAN.
