Madugu Set to Be Named Permanent Super Falcons Coach

‎A recent report indicates that the Nigeria Football Federation is expected to soon officially confirm Justin Madugu as the permanent head coach of the Super Falcons, following his successful tenure in an interim role.

‎The report states that Madugu led the senior women’s national team to their 10th Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) title, achieving a hard-fought 3–2 victory against the host nation, Morocco, in the final.

‎Additionally, it has been revealed that his outstanding leadership during the tournament earned him the Best Coach Award, which has further fueled calls for his permanent appointment.

‎Despite the high expectations, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has not yet finalized a permanent contract. The decision is in the hands of the NFF Technical Committee, which is chaired by Rabiu Inuwa Ahlan, the Chairman of the Kano State Football Association.

‎A senior official from the NFF, speaking with BSN Sports Nigeria in Abuja on Thursday, assured that Madugu’s confirmation will be completed shortly.

‎“Coach Madugu will be announced as the substantive head coach as soon as all outstanding matters are resolved. The responsibility rests entirely with the Technical Committee,” the official stated.

‎Following his achievement at the 2024 WAFCON, Justin Madugu has been nominated for the Ballon d’Or award.

‎With the Falcons’ upcoming international matches approaching, both stakeholders and fans are keen to see a continuation of leadership for the reigning African champions.
