‎Leverkusen Star Vows To Fight For Spot Amid AFCON 25

According to a recent report, it has been stated that Nathan Tella, the winger for Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga, is determined to secure a position in the Super Eagles squad for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

‎The report indicates that Tella, who was unable to participate in the 2023 tournament in Côte d’Ivoire, where Nigeria finished as runners-up, acknowledged that gaining a spot in the squad will be challenging but is confident in his readiness to face this challenge.

‎“To be selected, I must demonstrate my capabilities at the club level. I need to elevate my game because representing Nigeria is not merely about receiving a jersey,” Tella stated in an interview with Olympic.

‎“You must earn your place, put in the effort, and once you are in, the objective is to remain there. There is no greater feeling or achievement than to represent your country.”

‎Reflecting on Nigeria’s impressive performance in Côte d’Ivoire, the former Southampton player shared that observing his teammates has fueled his determination even further.

‎“Missing out on AFCON last year was difficult. My primary goal now is to secure a spot for AFCON 2025.

‎I witnessed how well the team performed, and while the final result was unfortunate, it filled me with pride. That has motivated me even more,” he concluded.

‎Nigeria has been placed in Group B along with Uganda, Tanzania, and Tunisia.
