The reigning champions of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), Remo Stars, have announced three significant signings as they prepare for a historic campaign in 2025/26 both domestically and internationally.
The Sky Blue Stars have confirmed the addition of a Malian duo, midfielder Chaka Coulibaly and striker Adama Goita, along with Jerome Bonou, a defensive midfielder from the Benin Republic, all secured on two-year contracts.
”We are excited to announce the signing of midfielder Chaka Coulibaly and striker Adama Goita, both of whom have signed two-year deals,” the club stated on Wednesday.
Coulibaly comes from Sportive Binga FC, based in Bamako, while Goita joins from the prominent Malian club Djoliba AC.
Earlier this week, the club also confirmed the signing of Bonou from Association Omnisports Les Requins de l’Atlantique in Benin.
With aspirations for continental success, these signings highlight Remo Stars’ commitment to enhancing their team with strength, creativity, and depth.

Remo Stars are preparing for their second appearance in the CAF Champions League after winning their first NPFL title last season with a total of 71 points, finishing seven points ahead of Rivers United.
Their journey will commence with a preliminary round match against the Comoros team, US Zilimadjou (19–21 September). A win would lead to a thrilling matchup against South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns, who are perennial contenders in the continental arena, in the final qualifying round.
Before facing the continental challenge, Remo Stars will begin their NPFL title defense on Friday against last season’s runners-up, Rivers United. Due to renovations at their Ikenne stadium, the MKO Abiola Sports Arena in Abeokuta will act as their temporary home ground.
After coming painfully close in the last two seasons, Remo finally overcame their hurdles in 2024/25, securing their first NPFL title. With new talent from Mali and Benin, coach Daniel Ogunmodede’s team now faces the ultimate challenge: defending their title at home while striving to make an impact on the continental stage.
