Wilfred Ndidi, a Nigerian international player, has been praised by Besiktas manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Solskjaer, who used to manage Manchester United, showed his respect for Ndidi before the first leg of Besiktas’ UEFA Conference League playoff match against Lausanne-Sport in Switzerland.
Ndidi and Solskjaer had crossed paths during their time at Leicester City and Manchester United.
In March 2021, when Ndidi played for Leicester and they beat Manchester United 3-1 in the FA Cup quarterfinals, Solskjaer was still the manager at Old Trafford.

At a press conference before the game, Solskjaer talked about how happy he is to have Ndidi in the team.
He said, “A few words about Wilfred, he has proven himself well.”
“You can see he is a highly professional athlete, a wonderful individual, and he provides us with something we have been lacking.”
“I am extremely pleased to have him here, very happy to have a leader of his caliber, and he will make significant contributions to the team in the months and years ahead, so I am very delighted that we acquired him.”
