‎Nigerian Striker Awoniyi Face Uncertain Future at EPL Outlet

According to a new report, Taiwo Awoniyi’s place at Nottingham Forest is not clear anymore because the club has signed many new players this summer. This has made Awoniyi less important in the team’s plans.

‎Forest has allowed the 28-year-old Nigerian striker to leave the club after adding several forwards this summer, as shared by Football Insider.

‎Awoniyi did not play in Forest’s first Premier League match against Brentford, and now he is considered an extra in the team’s plans.

‎Chris Wood, who scored twice against Brentford, remains the main striker for Forest. The team also signed Igor Jesus for £17 million, and he came into the game before Awoniyi.

‎Before the match, fans at the City Ground also greeted two new attacking players, Omari Hutchinson and James McAtee, who added more choices for manager Nuno Espírito Santo.

‎The pressure on Awoniyi increased even more when Forest signed another forward, Arnaud Kalimuendo, from Rennes for £26 million on Sunday.

‎Kalimuendo, who used to play for Paris Saint-Germain, is seen as a future solution for the team, and his arrival has put Awoniyi in fourth place as a striker.

‎Last season, Awoniyi struggled to get regular playing time and only scored one goal in the Premier League. Now, he may think about leaving to find more chances to play.

‎Football Insider mentioned that Kalimuendo has a good goal-scoring record from France, and at 23, he is still developing.

‎Wood is not under as much pressure to score because Santo has other forwards to use if needed.

‎A bigger squad might mean some players who are not getting much play could leave, and Awoniyi is likely one of them.

‎Santo has had a busy transfer window, adding players to prepare for the club’s return to European competitions.
‎The Portuguese manager has signed three players in just the past week, improving the team’s recruitment plan.
