COAS Assures Officers of Improved Welfare

The Nigerian Army has reiterated its commitment to improving the well-being of officers and men of the force. The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede made this known during an operational visit to the Nigerian Army 6 Division Headquarters, Port Harcourt, Rivers State where he inaugurated some major projects.

Lieutenant General Oluyede while stating the primary purpose of his visit to the Division reemphasized the resolve of the Nigerian Army to protect lives and property in the Niger Delta and the country at large.

The Army Chief who commended the gallant soldiers for their dedication gave the assurance that the Nigerian Army would continue to take measures to ddress some of the challenges faced by them in the discharge of their duty to the nation.

On the visit, the Chief of Army Staff commissioned various projects such as the 6 Division Garrison guard room, newly constructed 2 blocks corporal below quarters, renovated 29 battalion quarter guard and python Harmony House at Bori camp main gate.

Other projects were also commissioned in 5 Battalion and 343 Artillery Regiment at Elele cantonment which include, ground breaking for the construction of twenty units of two bedroom flat, Elele barracks power project, 5 battalion quarter guard and guard room as well as the remodeled 343 Artillery Regiment commanding officer residence.
