Ibas Visits RSTV, Pledges Swift Revamp of State-Owned Media Houses

The Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, says his administration is committed to revitalising state-owned media organisations, ensuring they meet modern operational standards and better serve the public.

His pledge comes after an extensive inspection of Rivers State Television (RSTV) and other key media institutions including Rivers FM, The Tide Newspaper, Garden City FM, and the State Printing Press.

Retired Vice Admiral Ibas while describing the media as indispensable to societal survival, emphasised the need for urgent intervention to restore these critical platforms.

Retired Vice Admiral Ibas noted that his administration has already laid out plans for facility upgrades and assured that when funds are available, the necessary maintenance will be carried out immediately.

Expressing concern over the current state of infrastructure and equipment, Vice Admiral Ibas assured that revitalisation efforts would be both immediate and sustained.

While calling for a proactive approach to equipment maintenance, the Sole Administrator stressed that longevity of machinery depends not just on the age but on proper usage and maintenance of available facilities.
