Rivers State Local Government Election, APC Starts Campaign

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State is poised to launch its campaign for the upcoming August 30 local government elections with a vibrant rally scheduled to commence shortly.

The event, took place at the Elechi Amadi Polytechnic in Rumuola, located within the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, has transformed the venue into a hub of excitement and anticipation.

Party leaders, supporters, and well-wishers have converged, filling the air with enthusiasm as they proudly wave APC flags and display various party insignia, signaling the start of an intense campaign season aimed at securing victory in the forthcoming elections.

A key highlight of the rally will be the ceremonial presentation of party flags to candidates who successfully emerged from the APC’s primary election held last Saturday. This symbolic gesture underscores the party’s commitment to its chosen representatives and serves to galvanize support among members and voters alike.

The event is expected to draw significant attention, as it marks a pivotal moment for the APC to showcase its strength and unity ahead of the local government polls, with the party aiming to consolidate its influence across Rivers State.

Chief Tony Okocha, the dynamic chairman of the APC in Rivers State, arrived at the venue early, accompanied by members of the state executive committee. Their presence was met with a resounding ovation, reflecting the high spirits and confidence among party faithful.

As of 11 am, several notable candidates were spotted at the event, including Confidence Deko representing Gokana LGA, Dr. Chidi Lloyd from Emuoha, Allwell Ihunda for Port Harcourt City LGA, and Vincent Nemienoka from Ogu/Bolo LGA, among others.

Their presence underscores the APC’s robust lineup and ambition to dominate the local elections. With the campaign flag-off in full swing, the APC is setting the stage for a fiercely contested race, aiming to mobilize voters and secure a strong mandate on August 30.
