The Rivers State Police Command has acted swiftly following the circulation of a disturbing video on social media, showing minors being dehumanized during a Church program.
The incident reportedly took place under the supervision of Pastor Ifediorah Onyeibor Joseph, a 41-year-old cleric who has since been arrested.
Preliminary investigations indicate that Ifediorah organized a three-day program for children at his Church, which he described as a “spiritual cleansing” exercise, claiming to be led by divine inspiration.
Acting on credible intelligence, police operatives moved to the location and apprehended the pastor along with several members of his congregation.
A full-scale investigation is currently underway to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
The police have assured the public that further updates will be provided as new information emerges.

The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga A. Adepoju, has called for calm and urged the public to remain law-abiding as the investigation progresses.
He encouraged anyone with relevant information or concerns to contact the nearest police station or other security agencies.
Adepoju reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to safeguarding the rights and dignity of all citizens, especially minors and other vulnerable groups, stressing that all necessary measures will be taken to ensure justice is served.
