‎”Home Eagles Are Very Slow on The Ball” – Sudan Forward Yagoub

‎According to a recent report, Sudan forward Abdel Raouf Yagoub has expressed his thoughts on his team’s remarkable victory against Nigeria.

‎Kwesi Appiah’s squad achieved a surprising 4-0 win over the home-based Super Eagles at the Amman Stadium in Zanzibar on Tuesday night.

‎This significant defeat eliminated Nigeria from the 2024 African Nations Championship. Yagoub netted two goals for Sudan in the second half.

‎The striker mentioned that they took advantage of Nigeria’s errors to secure the win.

‎”They are very slow on the ball, and their recovery rate is very poor — that’s what we capitalised on. Their defence made a lot of mistakes,” Yagoub stated after the match.

‎Sudan surged to a 2-0 lead just before half-time when Ngenge, who plays for Ikorodu City in the Nigeria Premier Football League, awkwardly handled the ball during an aerial challenge, allowing Daiyeen to convert the penalty against the unfortunate Lawal Mustapha.

‎Only 10 minutes into the second half, the score became 3-0 as Yagoub Omer finished brilliantly after the Sudanese team outmaneuvered the Nigerian defence, with none of the five defenders making a significant effort to stop the advancing Falcons of Jediane.

‎It worsened seven minutes later when Sudan attacked once more, and Omer displayed remarkable skill to strike the ball against the underside of the crossbar, watching it bounce into the net behind a struggling Mustapha.
