Group Visits Senator Ipalibo Banigo, Pushes for Federal STEAM Polytechnic in Tombia

The Tombia Development Crusaders (TDC) have proposed the establishment of a Federal Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) Polytechnic in Tombia, Degema Local Government Area, Rivers State.

The group made this proposal when they paid a courtesy visit to Dr. Ipalibo Harry Banigo, the Senator representing Rivers West Senatorial District and honoured her for exceptional leadership and commitment to grassroots development.

The proposed STEAM Polytechnic, backed by traditional rulers, youth leaders, women’s groups, academics, and professionals, seeks to boost educational opportunities and drive economic growth in the region.

In her remarks, Senator Banigo expressed strong support for the project, pledging to mobilise lawmakers, stakeholders, and federal authorities to secure legislative approval and presidential assent. She described the proposed polytechnic as a transformative step for the people of Degema and the wider Rivers West Senatorial District.
