CDS Pays Courtesy Visit to FIRS Headquarters, Seeks Support for African Conference

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa has paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Dr. Zacch Adedeji, at the FIRS Headquarters in Abuja.

General Musa in his remarks during the visit emphasized the vital connection between sustainable funding and national security.

The CDS while commending FIRS for consistently enabling the Nation’s Armed Forces to carry out their constitutional duties effectively, announced that Nigeria will host the inaugural African Chiefs of Defence Staff Conference in Abuja from 25–27 August 2025.

He noted that the event was a landmark gathering aimed at showcasing Africa’s capacity to shape its own defence agenda without external influence.

In his remarks, the Executive Chairman of Federal Inland Revenue Service Dr. Zacch Adedeji, while reaffirming that peace is the bedrock of prosperity noted that the Armed Forces played a pivotal role in safeguarding it in the country.

Dr. Zacch applauded the role of the Armed Forces in meeting the nation’s oil and gas revenue target following stability in key production areas.

He reiterated President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to military welfare and highlighted the recent approval for one thousand, five hundred and fifty housing units for Armed Forces personnel.
