Group Reaffirms Commitment To Empowering Youths, Promoting Inclusivity

In commemoration of the International Youth Day celebration, the South South Youth Initiative SSYI, has reaffirmed its commitment to empowering young people and promoting inclusivity.

The group gave this reaffirmation on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, as they marked the 2025 youth day celebration.

SSYI National President, Mr. Imeabe Saviour Oscar said “on the occasion of International Youth Day 2025, the South-South Youths Initiative proudly recognizes and celebrates the limitless potential, energy, and creativity of young people around the world.

“This year’s celebration resonates strongly with the aspirations and challenges facing youth, particularly amid the ongoing economic hardships under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”

Imeabe lauded what he described as the “resilience, innovation, and leadership demonstrated by young people in driving meaningful change within their communities.

“As we mark this important day, we reaffirm our unwavering commitment to empowering young people, promoting inclusivity, and tackling the critical issues they face.”

He emphasized the need to harness the power of youth to build a more equitable and prosperous future for all.

The group calles on governments, institutions, and individuals to invest in youth development, elevate their voices, and create opportunities for active participation and growth.

He added that, “International Youth Day 2025 serves as a powerful reminder that young people are not only the leaders of tomorrow but also the change makers of today.”
